How do you Access a PRIVATE PLAYLIST from within the iOS app


I have created a private playlist and sent out the share link to a number of people. They are all able to access the playlist through their web browsers but some would like to access it through the sound cloud app on their iOS devices.

How do they access a private playlist through the iOS app

Hi there,

Currently, I'm afraid that it is not possible to access a private playlist through the mobile app, but this is something we're planning for future updates. Your listeners should, however, be able to open the playlist in a mobile web browser (i.e, if you send them the link via email, they should be able to click on the link and access the playlist on their browser).

I was experiencing the same issue with users trying to access a private playlist via the iOS app, so I thank you for that answer... but they also seem to be having an issue accessing the playlist via a browser on an iOS device when opening directly via a link.

Is there a setting I might need to change for the playlist or the individual tracks on the playlist?

Hi,

No there is no special setting. What sort of problem do they run into? Error message or wrong browser redirect?

Likewise, even via browser on iPhone...some open and some don't...."We can't find this sound" is the response to the ones that don't?

Please help asap!

Can you let me know the title of the private playlist / track in question? I'd like to try and see if I can reproduce the issue from our end.

This is a huge disappointment to be honest. This request is over 2 years old, but still hasn't been implemented. Having the ability to privately share the playlist with users in the app was one of the main points why I signed up for Unlimited Pro. Using this to share a product with customers, if they can't access it within the app, it's pointless. Will have to look into other solutions, sadly, otherwise I'm super happy with SoundCloud.

It seems like you actually don't care, when the request is this old. The problem is unprofessional and slowing down my work with music. I love Soundcloud, but this tires me.
I would like it if you gave a clear answer. Are there coming a solution for the problem og not?
